Midtown Acupuncture now offers more to CY residents
By Tamara Walker
Jessica Puckett’s normally quiet acupuncture salon was noisy and filled to the brim with well wishers that dropped by for an anniversary party on February 4th. Jessica chose this night to give back to her customers for all their support during her first year in business in the Cooper-Young area. Clients and neighborhood friends drank champagne and enjoyed “healthy” appetizers prepared by good friend and business neighbor Mary Burns, owner of Java Cabana.[singlepic id=127 w=320 h=240 mode=web20 float=right]
In February of 2009, Jessica leased 917 South Cooper Street and spent several months renovating the gray four-square that was the former home of the Memphis Friends Quaker community. Jessica is a NCCAOM nationally board certified Acupuncturist with a Master of Science Degree in Oriental Medicine and Nutrition from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, who also has certification in Feng Shui and Aromatherapy. To help with her growing business, Jessica recently added registered nurse, Holly Hughes and massage therapist Larry Davis. Holly focuses on detoxification programs, colon hydrotherapy, and cellulite treatment.
Jessica said that “her business is becoming a more holistic wellness center instead of just acupuncture.” Midtown Acupuncture and Natural Apothecary can help you with facial rejuvenation, dermatology, pain management, stress, and anxiety to name a few of Jessica’s specialties. The Apothecary operates as a nutritional and herbal dispensary, stocking a range of herbal medicines and nutritional supplements and other natural products.
