Visible School to host several exciting events in May
By Crissy Lintner
May will bring yet another great line-up of musical events at Visible School Music and Worship Arts College, as students prepare and perform showcases from a wide variety of genres.
Kicking off May’s line-up of events, students will offer a unique listening experience at the Electronic Music Concert Tuesday, May 4th, at 6 pm. Performing new and sometimes experimental pieces, students will present pieces composed, mixed, and arranged using electronic mediums, including Reason Electronic Music and MIDI software. The night is sure to impress with creativity.
On Wednesday, May 5th, at 6 pm, six bands from Visible School will present their Spring Ensemble Showcase, featuring original compositions as well as covers of Christian rock hits. This concert features a culmination of studies from the year and will offer attendees a look at the next generation of musicians to come from Memphis’ premier Christian music and worship college.
Finally, May’s line-up will end with the World Music Ensemble concert on Friday, May 14th, at 7 pm. Attendees will embark on a journey from Japanese Okinawan pop music to South African choral music traditions as students at Visible School, along with well-known blues musician and Visible School professor Bill Ellis and Visible School instructor Brittany Betts, present an eclectic mix of world music compositions.
All events are free and open to the public and will take place at Lifelink Memphis, located at 1015 S. Cooper. For more information about all of these events, please visit visible.edu.
