Au Fond Farmtable is running two promotions now thru January 31 to help those who could use a little holiday cheer. First, this CY restaurant is offering free breakfast for the homeless and those in need. This togo meal includes scrambled eggs, grits, bacon, and coffee. Second, they are giving free meals to customers who donate new or gently used children’s coats. See their Facebook page, visit them at 938 S. Cooper Street, or call 901-274-8513 for more details.
In case you haven’t heard the buzz, we have new neighbors moving in. The Memphis News reported that a new Italian restaurant will be opening on the corner of Cooper and Young at the old Dish location. This restaurant, owned by chef David Cleveland and front-of-the-house manager Leslie Billman, will be called Cortona – the name of the small Tuscan town where Cleveland studied and worked. They hope to be serving up their light, fresh creations by the beginning of 2011. Let’s welcome these newcomers to the neighborhood!
