From Up Here showing at The Circuit Playhouse

By Lisa Lynch

Kenny Barrett did something that has everyone worried. He wishes he could just make it through the rest of his senior year unnoticed, but that’s going to be hard since he has to publicly apologize to his entire high school. At home his family is struggling with second marriages, surprise visits, school dances, and forgotten dry cleaning. This new play is about a family limping out the door in the morning and coming home no matter what.
Directed by Irene Crist (The Toymaker’s Apprentice), From Up Here features 2010-2011 Associate Company members Josh Bernaski, Nick Echols, Drew Hampton, and Carla Olivar, as well as favorites from the Memphis community Kim Justis, Liz Sharpe, and Lyric Peters. The production also features John Moore, a 2009 Ostrander Award nominee for Leading Actor in a Drama for his performance in The Little Dog Laughed.

The Pay-What-You-Can performance is Thursday, February 3.The Circuit Playhouse is located at 51 S. Cooper in Midtown. For more information or to make reservations, please call 901-726-4656.
