Edie Love Opening

Press Release from Edie Love:

What:   LOVE. An exhibition of new works of art by Edie Love, along with art by Karen Capps, frank d. robinson, and others.

When:  One night only! South Main Trolley Night, April 29th, from 6-9 p.m.

Where: The historic MGM building, located at 492 South Second St, Memphis, TN.

Cost:      Free!

Why:      This exhibit focuses on anit-racism, anti-sexism, anti-homophobia, and anti-Biblical literalism.  Isn’t it easier to just say ‘LOVE?’ Works are primarily sculptural, featuring fiber, metal, ceramic, wood, and mixed media.  Music will be provided by Tamar Love, Chris Reeder will be belly dancing, and light snacks will be served.

The most controversial works will deal with rigid adherence to Biblical literalism.  Here is a sample of one work that will be on display:
