Severe Weather and Flooding Updates

MEMPHIS, TN, Tuesday, May 3, 2011 — The American Red Cross is helping those affected by the recent round of severe weather and preparing for the threat of flooding across the Mid-South.

Currently, the chapter is supporting the following shelters in the Mid-South and West Tennessee:

    • First Assembly of God, 511 N. Missouri Street, West Memphis, AR 72301
    • 8th Street Mission, 717 E. Broadway, West Memphis, AR 72301
    • G.W. Henderson, 1165 Abbay, Tunica, MS 38676
    • Dyersburg 1st Assembly of God, 730 E. Court Street, Dyersburg, TN 38024
    • Second Baptist Church, 831 Everett Blvd., Union City, TN 38261

The Mid-South Chapter is ready to respond to the changing needs of the community due to flooding in the Mid-South and across West Tennessee. The Red Cross Safe and Well secure website is a way to let your loved ones know you are safe and to find information about people in the affected areas. To register, visit and click on the “List Yourself or Search Registrants” link under “How to Get Help”.
