Peabody Elementary annual International Studies Festival open to all

By Ginger Spickler

On Friday, May 13, the students and staff at Peabody Elementary will host the school’s annual International Studies Festival. Students in each grade level study a different country throughout the school year: kindergarten – United States; first grade – Kenya; second grade – France; third grade – Mexico; fourth grade – Russia; and fifth grade – Japan.

During the International Studies Festival, guests will enjoy a program featuring traditional songs and dances from each country. The program begins at 8:15am. After the program (around 9:15am), guests will travel throughout the building viewing projects, presentations, and skits and tasting traditional cuisine from around the world. The festival ends at 10:45am and is free to guests. Community members who join us annually for sushi in Japan and coconut in Kenya always enjoy this exciting event.
