Cooper Young Business Association is excited to announce the Visible LIVE – Music Mondays starting June 6, 2011 at 6:00 pm.  Music Mondays at the gazebo located at the corner of Cooper Street and Young Avenue will be every Monday in the month of June and July from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  All entertainers will be either students, past students, friends or teachers connected with the Visible Music College.

Visible Music College “gets” the idea that creative young people need a place to develop technical and artistic skills.  Visible is an independent college designed to prepare artists, technicians and business professionals for skilled, relational service in the arts industries and the church.  Yet, Visible is more than a college campus, it is a community of artists who want to bring the culture of God’s kingdom to modern society.

In June, we have four Memphis favorites on tap.  On June 6, the Songkindler will present their unique blend of folk, bluegrass, and Americana and gospel music.   Linda and Cecil Yancy have performed their own blend of music together for over a decade. This husband/wife duo brings to the stage a shared heritage of mountain music, southern traditional tunes and modern stories in song.  On June 13, The Passerine will entertain us with an unusual arrangement of voices and instruments, offering a fresh take on traditional folk and bluegrass music with a repertoire of original songs that range from sweet ballads to an edgier side of contemporary Americana.  On June 20, songwriter Josh Smith, will be the main attraction and on June 27, join us for some jazzy tunes by the Teacher’s Lounge Trio.

Come down to Cooper Young this summer and join in the Visible revolution.
