Let’s Do It Again…Mature Adults

Mature adults over 55 are invited to an Open House to celebrate the launch of Encore Creative Arts in Soulsville on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 10 am – 12 noon at MBAA’s FireHouse Community Arts Center, 985 South Bellevue at the Gateway to

Do you want to have fun, nurture your creativity and meet like-minded mature adults? Would you like a second chance to learn to dance, sing, act, paint/draw, write or play an instrument?

If yes, Encore Creative Arts is for you. Join the world-traveled, professional and culturally-inspired artists-faculty and staff of the Memphis Black Arts Alliance and sample classes, talk directly with teachers and register for classes which meet Mondays and Tuesdays, 10 am – 12 noon beginning, November 12, 2012.

In addition to classes, participants will have an opportunity to perform and showcase their arts through the Encore Chorale-singers; the Encore Movers-dancers; the Encore Players- actors, and; the Encore Visionaries – visual artists. Monthly costs, which include two classes, are only $50 or $40 for MBAA members.

Founded in 1982, Memphis Black Arts Alliance offers cultural and performing arts training, special events, tours, and gallery exhibits. The FireHouse Community Arts Center is the headquarters of the Memphis Black Arts Alliance located in a converted 1910 fire station at the gateway to Soulsville USA, the historic African-American neighborhood of Memphis’s music, education, religious and business legends from the community.

A 501(c)3 nonprofit tax-exempt agency MBAA relies on public and private contributions to support its programs.
