Project Green Fork wants to encourage you to continue to use the Cooper Young Recycling Center at First Congo and also want to remind you that they have posted some guidelines to make the center function as best as possible (see sign posted at the center or below).
* Leaving recyclables outside of the containers when the containers are full. PLEASE DON’T DO THIS! Hold onto your recyclables and come back when the containers are emptied. At least one container will be emptied every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you arrive on one of these days (especially Monday) and both containers are full, this means the haulers haven’t shown up yet.
* Throwing plastic bags into the containers. When you don’t empty the bags into the bins, they take up too much space within the containers PLUS the plastic bags cannot get recycled.
* Not breaking down cardboard boxes. This also takes up too much space within the containers. Please break your cardboard down before depositing into the bins.
Project Green Fork has a great partnership with Re-Community who pay to have the containers hauled. Since there is a cost associated with this, the containers can’t be picked up as often as they would like. Please help us keep the cost down by adhering to the guidelines posted.
Thanks for your help and thanks for recycling!
