fred’s Super Dollar Stores have begun their annual “Panda Pals” campaign that benefits animal care, conservation and research at the Memphis Zoo and also rewards customers who contribute with a $4-off coupon on general admission to the Zoo.
Customers in 182 fred’s Super Dollar Stores that are located in a 200-mile radius of the Memphis Zoo have an opportunity to purchase a $1 “Panda Pals” card and sign their names on them. fred’s Super Dollar team members then display the “Panda Pals” cards in their store windows to illustrate the shoppers’ support of the program and everyone who purchases a card will receive the discount coupon.
The $4-off coupon is valid until August 31, 2014. The campaign runs through July 4.
Since 2003, fred’s Super Dollar Stores have contributed more than $700,000 to the Memphis Zoo through the “Panda Pals” program. Last year, more than $32,000 was raised.
“Memphis has one of the finest zoos in the nation and fred’s is proud to help support it,” said Ursula Roman, marketing director for fred’s Super Dollar. “The Memphis Zoo has been recognized on a global scale for its dedication to the preservation of animals and for its educational programs. It is a true asset to the Mid-South.”
“fred’s Super Dollar Stores are dedicated to helping our customers save money,” Roman added. “What better way to continue in that mission than with the ‘Panda Pals’ program. After all, this program provides our customers the opportunity to not only enjoy the Memphis Zoo at a discount price, but also to contribute to its important causes.”
