The CYCA held elections for a new Vice President and Secretary last month and we are happy to share the results:

Liz Royer-Vice President

Liz Royer grew up in the suburbs of Memphis but always wanted to live in a bungalow in Cooper-Young. After several years in Georgia and Virginia, she and her husband moved back in 2011 and bought a house on Cox, where they live with several rescue dogs, a cat, ducks, and a rabbit. Liz is the claims coordinator for Midtown insurance agency Lipscomb & Pitts. She is passionate about preserving the historic architecture, character, and cool neighborhood vibe of Cooper-Young. Liz is our Block Club Program Coordinator, Blight/Code Awareness Chair and also sits on the Safety Committee too.

Sal Miller-Secretary

Sal has always loved living in Cooper-Young because of what the neighborhood embodies and enjoys seeing CY (and Memphis) thrive with its vibrant culture, strong sense of community, and drive for productivity. A resident of Cooper-Young since 2007, he currently lives on Meda St. with his two dogs, Mr. Bear and Bandit Man. Naturally loving to network and meet people, he agreed to chair the Membership Committee in hopes of continuing to build strong relationships with the residents and businesses of CY and other communities in Memphis. With his other strong love of social media, writing, and technology, he also serves on the Communications Committee, helping to further drive the CYCA’s image, brand, and vision to a bigger audience. When he isn’t walking around CY enjoying the sunshine or rain, he enjoys writing motivational blogs, playing a variety of sports (ice hockey, softball, indoor soccer), swimming and yoga, playing guitar, piano, and percussion, riding his Harley Davidson, and eating as much pizza as possible.
