This month we are happy to host Judge Larry Potter of the Memphis and Shelby County Environmental Court at our monthly general meeting on Tuesday, June 9th.
Potter was appointed to the City Court Bench Division 2 in 1982. During his first year, he helped create the Memphis Environmental Court. According to Keep America Beautiful, this was the first environmental court in Tennessee and the third such court in the United States. Many of the concepts that are now standard to this type of court in America were designed and developed under his leadership. CNN described him as a “national role model”.
Judge Potter will discuss common code violations, what to do when you encounter one of these violations, as well as updates on local properties and blight. We will all meet up on June 9th at our office (2298 Young) beginning at 6 pm for a social half hour and snacks. We hope to see you there!
