Whether you’re already a master gardener or are just starting out, composting your kitchen waste and yard clippings is a great way to take things to the next level. Plus, composting is the best way to know exactly what goes into your veggies and keeps your flowers blooming. It’s even a great science project for kids.
If you are interested in learning how to start composting for your garden, come on out Saturday, August 15th at 10 a.m. to the Pilgrim House Hostel at First Congo. Our main speaker will be Chris Peterson, formerly of GrowMemphis and a fantastic expert on how to get your garden growing. This mini-workshop will last about two hours and will include information on how to get started, what you can compost, and even a few tips on how to get up and running without too much cost.
We’ll also be talking about how to connect people who compost with those who have material but not the means or space to set up their own systems. All are welcome to this fun mini-workshop, so bring your questions and come help us learn about composting together. — Kristen Schebler
