Jessica Blount’s toga-themed party won the Cooper-Young 4-Mile Light the Way party contest.

The Cooper-Young 4-Miler continued its run of successful events this year.

The race, held on September 18th, the day before the annual Cooper-Young Festival, attracted almost 1,300 racers. John Maglasang repeated as the winner in the male category, though a tad off his 2014 pace at 21:06.6. Margaret Molteni was the fastest woman at 25:32. Also repeating was John Payne, last year’s winner in the wheelchair category, who came in a still competitive 20:44.3 despite being the only racer in his category.

Off the racecourse, the competition was no less fierce among those vying for best fete among the annual Light the Way parties. Jessica Blount’s toga-themed bacchanal ended up taking top honors. Thanks to all the Cooper-Young residents who cheered on our runners.

Hopefully, we will see all of you again next year, if not running then on the sidelines urging them on.
