CYBA kicks off holidays at December 3 event
Celebrate the holidays in the Cooper-Young Historic District on December 3rd 5:30-6:30 p.m. Local businesses will be lighting up their windows and outdoor displays for the annual Cooper Young “Unwrapped” contest hosted by the Cooper-Young Business Association. Our special guest judge this year is Shelby County Commissioner Reginald Milton. Milton will be making the final decision at 6:15 p.m. with prize presentation afterward.
At the gazebo, we have the Peabody School Choir under the direction of Jerry Sanders singing Christmas carols 5:30-6 p.m., and Santa will be strolling about listening to holiday wishes and handing out candy.
The CYBA is hosting a fundraiser for the school that night. Please bring a small toy under $5 to be added to their supply closet for the Peabody Eagle Bucks program. Eagle Bucks encourages good behavior and helpfulness to others. Be sure to stay by for some wonderful holiday music, cookies and cheer!
After the choir, Memphis Men of Harmony chorus will entertain. Chartered in 1946, the group of male singers is dedicated to the preservation and encouragement of barbershop harmony. They are a multi-award winning group with two recent district championships. The Men of Harmony will be singing at the gazebo 6-6:30 p.m.
Restaurants and retail shops will be open and offering a large assortment of holiday goodies to choose from. Come support local small business owners and enjoy our friendly neighborhood in the heart of Memphis!
