April meeting spotlights Neighborhood Watch
Please join us at this month’s Cooper-Young Community Association general membership meeting as we get a big update from the revitalized Cooper-Young Neighborhood Watch and take care of some important board of directors business.
First up is the board business as we hold elections for CYCA president and treasurer. As you may have heard, our own June Hurt is stepping down from her long-held post as president. She will remain on the board, however, heading the communications chair. Treasurer Mark Morrison is running to take her place as president, creating an opening in his old position. Please join us as we set the course for Cooper-Young’s leaderhip. Voting is open to all current CYCA members.
The rest of the April meeting will be taken up by a visit from Aaron James from the Cooper-Young Neighborhood Watch. James is not only a great handyman around the neighborhood, he’s also been working tirelessly with a growing group of neighbors to revitalize our neighborhood watch. Recently, the CYNW received a set of grants from the city , and they’d like to tell you all about what they hope to achieve.
We’ll be meeting April 12th at our office at 2298 Young. The meeting will kick off at 6 p.m. with a social half hour followed by announcements and our speaker. All are welcome, so be sure to skip the babysitter and bring the kids. We hope to see you there. — Kristen Schebler
