Volunteers sought for neighborhood spruce up

The sun has started shining, the plants have started growing, and now its time for a little spring cleaning.

The CYCA is sponsoring a Community Spruce Day on Saturday, May 7th. Area residents are invited to give a few hours to give Cooper-Young a little love and make our neighborhood shine.

If you’re looking to work with a group, we’ll have crews of volunteers out from 9-11 a.m. at the pilot alley (meet at the Peabody school parking lot) and from 3-5 p.m. meeting at the Gazebo.

We can’t cover the whole neighborhood, though, so we need your help. Any members of the CYCA can come to our office at 2298 Young and pick up trash bags, litter grabbers, and any other supplies you might need. We’ll also be holding a little competition for best cleanup effort. Send us your before and after pics, and you could win two tickets to the first annual Cooper-Young Garden Walk. — K.S.
