Cooper-Young is going to the dogs for one night at least.
From 6-9 p.m. on Thursday. May 12th , the historic district will host the 3rd annual Cooper-Young Pup Crawl benefitting the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County.
Ten popular Cooper-Young restaurants and bars will offer special canine-themed drinks for the evening and will donate 10 percent of sales from Pup Crawlers. Participants should first stop at the gazebo at Cooper Street and Young Avenue to get a free wristband, which will ensure that their sales are counted. Participating restaurants and their respective specialty drinks include:

• Celtic Crossing Irish Pub: Irish Setter

• Tsunami: Shih Tsu Not
• Young Avenue Deli: Junkyard Dog
“Cooper-Young has always been a very pet-friendly neighborhood,” said Tamara Cook, director of the Cooper-Young Business Association. “The Pup Crawl is a fun way for people to enjoy our walkable neighborhood and best restaurants and bars, all while meeting some new furry friends (or hanging out with their own canine best friend) and helping injured and abused animals at the Humane Society.”
Leashed, vaccinated, and friendly dogs are welcome on all patios. The event will feature live music by Mark Edgar Stuart and will be emceed by FM100 radio personality Michelle Lewis. Pup Crawlers who get three or more restaurants punched on a punch card will be entered to win a gift basket from the Cooper-Young Business Association.
HSMSC dogs will serve as outdoor greeters at each participating restaurant, so attendees will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with some of Memphis’ finest adoptable canines. HSMSC will have t-shirts for sale to raise additional funds toward its mission of rescuing injured and abused animals.
The Cooper-Young Pup Crawl, is hosted by the Cooper-Young Business Association and presented by top sponsors Memphis Animal Clinic, State Farm Insurance: Steve Womack, and Chuck Hutton Toyota.
