Cooper-Young Volunteer Opportunities
Street Light Audit
Sept 6th, 2016
Take a drive through the neighborhood and take note of any street lights that are out. We do this every year before the Cooper-Young 4 Miler race so that all our visitors feel welcomed and illuminated. We plan on using the SeeClickFix app on our phones, so if you have never used this app and are interested, come on out. We’ll meet at the Cooper-Young Community Association office at 2298 Young at 7:30 p.m..
Neighborhood Clean Up on Race Route
Sept 14th, 2016
Our annual Cooper-Young Festival 4-Miler will wind its way through Cooper-Young September 16th. The Cooper-Young race committee wants our neighborhood to shine! We are asking for volunteers to come out Wednesday, September 14th, at 6 p.m. to gather at the Gazebo at Cooper and Young. From there we will split into smaller groups and walk the race route and collect any trash or target any trouble spots. This volunteer opportunity should only take about an hour, and you can get a little exercise in the process.
Sept 16th, 2016
We have so many things to do for the Race! All day and night there will be opportunities to help, including registration shifts, set up shifts, food service, beer service positions, and more. We even have a position for photographing the event. So look to sign up. We always work hard but have a great time. For more information, visit our Facebook page or contact us at (901) 272-2922.

The Cooper-Young Business Association organizes this enormous event, but the Cooper-Young Community Association does have a booth to sell t-shirts, memberships, and other CY swag. We need people to man this booth in two hours shift from the beginning of the festival at 9 a.m. to its end at 7 p.m. This event is wonderful if you want to meet a lot of folks in our neighborhood. Sign up today by visiting our Facebook page or using the contact information listed above.
