Winners abound at Festival 4-Miler
The results are in for this year’s Festival 4-Miler.
The annual foot race, organized by the CYCA and held the evening before the Cooper-Young 4-Miler, had another successful run this year. More than 2,000 runner competed, led by three-time men’s winner John Maglasang who finished with a time of 21.11.58. Kacey Norbert led the women with a time of 26.02.79.
The competition was stiff off the racecourse as well with the Light the Way 4-Miler party contest. We had 16 fantastic competitors vying to throw the best party along the route of the race. Everyone did a wonderful job of welcoming the runners to Cooper-Young, and the CYCA wants to thank each and every one of you for all the time and effort you put into your parties. You are all the reason we have so many runners year after year. We also want to thank this year’s judge, Lischa Brooks. Brooks is the principal of Maxine Smith Steam Academy (located at the corner of Central and East Parkway, and she came out in full style, dressed as a knight to represent her school!
